Roy Wilcox Library:

The Roy Wilcox Library is an automated library staffed by a qualified teacher-Librarian and a library assistant. It offers an extensive library skills program to all classes and is open to drop-in students.

The Roy Wilcox library offers the following:

Electronic Materials such as encyclopedias on CD-ROM: Encarta, Grolier, World Book, Canadian, plus a number of other subject specific CD-ROMs to assist with schoolwork.

An electronic catalog allows students to search for resources in our library.

We currently have six computers available with full Internet access. Students may also use these computers for searching the library catalog, preparing reports and projects and using the Internet for research. An acceptable use policy must be signed by the parent/guardian before Internet access is allowed.

Each class visits the library every week for book exchanges. The loan period for books is one week.

FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY CARDS
All BC students are now eligible for a free public library card. Your child is encouraged to visit the public library and enjoy the gift of reading.Libraries are wonderful places with a wealth of informative and entertaining materials for you to use. Public library materials such as books, articles, magazines, CDs, videos and Internet resources can complement those provided at school. This will help students reach new levels of achievement. Research help is also available at the library and on most public library websites, which gives the library members, access to information not freely available on the internet. Your library can be part of the success that helps your children reach their goals.
