2008 - SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES UPDATE
RUNNING AND WALKING CLUB 2008 – GRADES 1-7
Some students have already started as we were getting ready for the Terry Fox Run, the Kildala Kilomeet , and the Kitimat “Kick It Up ” campaign.
KICK IT UP KITIMAT
Kitimat “Kick It Up” program will begin in October. We are encouraging students to keep track of the number of minutes walking and
biking. Your support is appreciated
INDOOR SOCCER CLUB
GRADE 3/4/5 Indoor Soccer will begin in the near future for all interested students. Games will take place on Wednesday afternoons
from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Come out and join the fun. Sign-up will occur in early October.
INDOOR FLOOR HOCKEY – INTERSCHOOL PLAY GRADES 5—7
Planning is in place for initiating an interschool indoor hockey league. Students will be provided more information in the near future.
A parent sponsor is requested for this activity. If you are interested please contact Ray Webster at the school. The program will take
place on Monday after school for approximately one hour for game play and practice drills.
BADMINTON CLUB
Students in grades 4-7 are encouraged to come out and enjoy a great racquet sport. Badminton sessions will be on Wednesdays at 8:00
a.m. if enough students sign-up and are committed.
SKIPPING CLUB 2007 – GRADES 1-7
Sign-up will take place in mid-October if the weather continues to be less than desirable. The program will take place at recess so that
everyone can participate and have fun skipping.
POSTER AND COLLAGE CLUB
Many students have expressed an interest to work with their friends on a special poster or collage during the recess break.
Sign-up will begin in early October.
GRADE 6/7 INTER-SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL 2008
Plans are in place to begin Volleyball league play in mid-October and culminate at the end of November. Game days will take
place after-school and students will generally be home around 5:00 p,m. It is a great opportunity for students to learn about
‘fun and competitive’ play as well as commitment to a team.
