Community Family Could Use Support:
Dear Parents, and community! [November 12-2008]
As you may be aware, a Roy Wilcox family was in a vehicle accident several weeks ago on their way to Terrace. The mother was seriously injured in the accident and is currently receiving treatment in Vancouver.
This family came to Kitimat from the United States and, therefore, does not have Canadian Health Care and must cover their own expenses. The father is flying to Vancouver every weekend to be with his wife.
We're Helping with a No Drive Bottle Drive
Our school has an account at the bottle depot in service centre. We are asking families to gather their containers, take them to the bottle depot and leave the money there to be added to our account. Prior to the Christmas holidays, we will get a cheque from the bottle depot to be given to the Roy Wilcox family.
Roy Wilcox Elementary School has a wonderful tradition of helping those in need. Unfortunately, it is time for us to “step up” once again. One can only imagine the stress and worry this family must be feeling at this time. Please give generously.
Thank you,
Janet Meyer and the PAC
