The next Roy Wilcox P.A.C. meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 at 7:30pm in the staff room. Hope everyone can make and it would be fantastic to see some new faces!

PAC has a NEW “user friendly” form to submit requests for funding.  Some examples of funding requests could include; classroom resources and supports, travel funds, clubs, teams, activities, special events, etc.    If you would like to volunteer to start up a club, activity, sport and need funding to get started, please print and submit this form at the PAC meeting or to your PAC Chair, Kathy DeMelo, e-mail address, ashlyn6@telus.net.  If you have any questions, please contact any PAC member below:

Dear Parents,

A notice went home to parents today regarding some school changes in Kindergarten and the  If your note was missing, or forgotten we would appreciate you using the survey link below to let us know your opinions.

We would like your opinions on the following potential changes to our school system.  The School Board will be meeting next week to make a decision on full day kindergarten starting September 2010.  They will also be discussing the Middle School which would involve the grade 7, 8 and 9 students attending the West Wing of MESS.  Here is your opportunity to voice your opinions.

Feedback must be received at the school Monday morning; there are only 2 questions and your opinion is important to us.

Please take a moment to look over the flow chart of transporting our kids to school. It’s important we all understand the protocols, for the safety of all our children.

Reminder that there is a PAC meeting this Wednesday, November 18th at 7pm in the Roy Wilcox Staff Room. Everyone is welcome!

Recently, a site meeting was held between ICBC Road Safety personnel, the School Principal, and members of the Parent Advisory Committee to discuss the safety concerns and view the afternoon pick-up activities. The following information summarizes the issues.

This report makes several suggestions. Some we have implemented already and some that require further discuss between the Administration and the Maintenance Department and the Administration and Roy Wilcox PAC.

Hi everyone, welcome back to Roy Wilcox.  We are looking forward to another great year!

Unfortunately with government cut-backs this year to the grant funds we normally receive as a PAC it is even more important for us to get creative with our fundraising efforts.  Fundraising allows the PAC to provide opportunities for students that wouldn’t normally be provided such as classroom needs, playground equipment and technology needs.  We would love to have as many parents as possible help in these endeavors.  Of course, in addition to fundraising, there are many other ways to help out with whatever time you can spare.  Whether you can contribute a little or a lot, we welcome all parents to participate and be active in a group that wants to make a difference in the school for the students.

Please come to our first PAC meeting on Tuesday, September 22nd at 7:30 pm in the school staff room following the Meet the Teacher night.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact your PAC Chair, Kathy Demelo, at: roywilcoxschool@gmail.com

The playground is finished and the kids seem to be really enjoying it!
$30,000 was raised to purchase this much needed playground equipment for the kids!
